Dani is a lovely one-year-old cat who loves to play. She likes wand toys but will also play on her own with catnip toys. Like many cats, she is a bit shy at first. Once she feels comfortable she is very sweet and wants to be near her human all the time. If she is sleeping and her foster mom gets up from her desk, Dani will get up and follow her. Dani likes to sleep nearby, but so far she is not a lap cat and is not yet comfortable being picked up.
Dani is very well-behaved. She scratches on a scratching board and not the furniture. She’s not much of a jumper and has never jumped on the counters or the table. She will jump on the couch or chairs as she is playing, but she usually doesn’t stay there.
Dani was picked up as a stray and brought to Chicago Animal Control. No one came to claim her and she stayed there for over a month. One of our supporters brought Dani to our attention and rallied for her to be saved. It just so happened that we had a foster home open up who was able to take on a shy cat like Dani and help her flourish into the friendly lady she is today.
We think Dani might like a kitty companion, but she is the only cat in her foster home and we have no first-hand knowledge of how she interacts with other pets or children. Dani is a sweet cat who deserves a happy, forever home.
