Squash is a young kitten with a mostly white coat, which is speckled with brown tabby patches. She is a sweet girl who can be found carrying around several different mouse toys. She has been known to walk around holding one mouse, then carrying it somewhere, but along the way, find another mouse and tries hard to pick that one up too. Of course, while dropping the first one! This “job” she has created can last a good 20 minutes before she realizes she is not a dog and cannot fit 2 mouse toys in her mouth. But she is determined and maybe someday she will figure it out! When new friends visit, Butternut and Squash take a little time to feel comfortable. However, its only a short time before they are rip-roaring kittens again! These two siblings are bonded and it would be wonderful to see them go to their forever home together. They are quiet and easy going and would make a wonderful life for their humans.
We rescued Butternut and Squash from Chicago Animal Care and Control in the beginning of October when they were only about 6 weeks old. These girls have grown so big and strong since then and are ready for their forever home.
The ideal home for these little kittens would have no small children, no dogs (or maybe a very cat savvy dog). Other cats would likely be fine.
She is already neutered, FIV/FeLV tested negative, Avid micro-chipped, de-wormed and has all necessary shots. She is ready to go to a loving home. Adoption fee is $125

All kittens must be adopted with another kitten or into a home with another young cat with which he or she can play and socialize. The majority of no-kill rescues nationwide adhere to this policy. This policy is NOT based on a desire to increase our number of adoptions, rather it ensures that the kittens we rescue, nurture, and love are adopted into homes that offer the best possible environment for their social development.
