Meet Tasket

Tasket is a beautiful DSH, female orange tabby, about a year and a half old. Tasket enjoys cardboard scratchers of all shapes and sizes as well as toys on strings that allow her to “stalk” them. She particularly likes the track toys with the ball inside. When not at play she enjoys pets and gentle cuddles. She is a doll. Tasket is shy and reserved at first. While getting used to her new foster home, she felt safe when hidden in a closet or underneath a bed; which is typical cat behavior. After a few days, she started rubbing against her foster mom’s legs and asking her for pets. Tasket has to be adopted with her sister Basket as they are very bonded – seeking each other out for play, comfort and snuggles.

We rescued Basket and Tasket from an open-admission shelter in southern Illinois. They were adopted at four months old into a loving home with three little girls. The smallest child developed allergies and nothing they tried alleviated her symptoms. The family reluctantly returned Basket and Tasket to us in hopes that they will quickly find their forever home. This family describes the girls as, “a very loving pair of cats who like the safetly of a home and are not escape artists, good with kids, don’t mind being petted even when eating, never a hiss, always sweet.”

These beautiful girls will absolutely bring a lot of fun and a lot of love to their forever home. Tasket must be adopted with her sister Basket as they are bonded and have complimenting personalities. They have no experience with dogs. They would likely do fine in a home with other cats and are very comfortable with respectful children.
