About Zen

Zen is a big-boned snuggle muffin! He loves being close to you and will always be lounging nearby, by your side, or on your lap! Each day in his new foster home, he gets a little closer, and has started sitting on his foster mom’s lap in front of the TV and while on the computer. He loves scratches all over his head and will sometimes roll over for a gentle a belly rub. At night, he loves being a little spoon and sometimes wants to snuggle under the covers!  He’s not super interested in toys or playing with hanging things, which is great! In a home with lots of things going on, there’s almost no destructive behavior. He does tend to scratch on the carpet a bit, so ample appropriate surfaces to scratch are recommended (some ideas include a tall carpeted cat tree or corrugated cardboard scratchers).

In his previous foster home, Zen loved to eat a meal then curl up on the nice soft couch, or in the family cat tree.  He did well with the household’s other cats, but is not one to interact with them much.  Occasionally his attention could be caught with a cat dancer, but not for long. He’d much rather lay on the top level of the cat tree, put his chin on the edge and watch the goings on in the room.

Zen was relinquished to CACC by his owner. By the time he was brought to our attention and we rescued him, he was quite ill.  His foster mom nursed him back to health with some medical intervention and lots of love and sweet talk.

Zen does NOT like dogs and at the mere sight of the family dog, he begins to growl.  We have not exposed Zen to children, but our guess is he would be happiest in a home by himself or with one or two other low-key cats. We don’t think he is a great fit for kids.  Definitely no dogs.

He is already neutered, FIV/FeLV tested negative, Avid micro-chipped, de-wormed and has all necessary shots. He is ready to go to a loving home.  Adoption fee is $125
